Chalcopyrite is an iridescent rock also known as 'Peacock Ore' because of its shimmering, metallic colours. At first glance it may look like an ordinary, brown colored stone, but pick a piece up and turn it in the light and you will see golden and copper colored iridescence with striking flashes of bright purple and blue.

Chalcopyrite is linked to the powers of elemental Fire, and is believed to contain the power of the star-lit sky and the knowledge that every distant point of light is a fiercely burning sun. It is often used for weather magic, and a person in tune with this stone is said to be able to create rain and harness the power of storms.

Meditation or crystal-gazing with Chalcopyrite helps you to connect with your own spiritual Fire, so that you can burn brightly and be the person you want to be. It is a useful stone to work with if fear, insecurity and doubt is holding you back and preventing you from being truly happy.

I have a friend who always carries a piece of Chalcopyrite with him when he goes mountain climbing or walking in the wilderness.
