Cuprite

Cuprite, or Copper Pyrite, seems at first glance to be an opaque, dull gray, metallic crystal, but if you hold a piece to the light it reveals a deep, translucent blood red color. Sacred to the Earth Goddess, Cuprite is a stone of feminine strength and power. It symbolises the womb of the Earth from which all life and creativity spring and like the Earth it is said to hold the potential of life, death and rebirth.

Cuprite is a powerful ally in any magic of self discovery and seems to enhance the power available during meditation, contemplation and prayer. Meditating with this crystal helps you to go ever deeper inside yourself until you enter the Void, the no-thing at the center of everything that contains all potential and from which all creation manifests. Cuprite is said to help anyone brave enough to seek inner knowledge, understand their deepest feelings and discover their true spiritual nature.

With its blood red color, Cuprite has strong links to the Moon and menstruation and can be used by women to attune to their monthly cycle and better use the power available to them at that time. Cuprite is a stone of the darkness, solitude and silence from which creativity and vision come. It is useful for people who find it difficult to be still and silent, teaching anyone who will listen how to hear the quiet voice of the Universe and draw on their own inner knowledge.
