Jacinth

Jacinth is a translucent red form of Zircon that has a similar color to the reddish-purple flower from which it takes its name. Legend has it that Jacinth makes its wearer irresistably fascinating to others, especially if the stone is set in gold. Meditation with Jacinth is said to increase eloquence and the powers of persuasion and the stone is often used in magic to increase your charm and help you to influence others to do your will.

Jacinth has been renowned for centuries for its power to protect against illness and was carried as a talisman in mediaeval Europe to ward off the plaque.

One old spell says that when writing a letter place a piece of Jacinth on the pages for three hours before you mail it to ensure that your words will be well received by whoever reads it. I'm not sure how this translates to the computer age; perhaps you could rest a piece of Jacinth on top of your monitor before sending an important email?
