Marcasite is an iron-rich mineral. The name 'marcasite' is often applied to Iron Pyrite when it is cut as a jewelry stone but this is technically not coorect - Marcasite and Pyrite are chemically identical but have different atomic structures.

When worn or carried, Marcasite is believed to increase your ability to deal with problems and find practical solutions. It is said to increase your confidence and is especially useful for anyone whose self-esteem has been worn away over time due to bad parenting or an abusive relationship. In meditation Marcasite is said to help you look at your past while keeping your emotions under control, allowing you to work through traumas, learn the lessons of these experiences, release the pain, guilt or fear they have caused and move on with your life.
