Mother of Pearl

Mother of Pearl, also known as Nacre, is the hard iridescent inner surface of the shells of certain mollusks. It can be white, cream or brown and is common in jewelry and carvings because of its beauty and availability.

Long considered sacred to the sea, Goddesses of the sea and the power of elemental Water, Mother of Pearl is a wonderful gem for any Sea Priestess or Priest. Used in magic for concealment and secrecy, Mother of Pearl is said to keep things that do not need to be seen well hidden from view, but it is also said that if you ask nicely the shell will also reveal things being kept hidden from you.
